MEET MELAINA

Hey! Thanks for stopping by!

I’m Melaina, but the ones closest to me call me Mel! I am a New York Based Actor and a recent graduate from Christopher Newport University’s MT Class of ‘23. I was born and raised in a small town, outside of Binghamton, NY with my very close knit family.

Needing an outlet for all the emotions I was feeling growing up, my mom enrolled me in a Kids Theater Workshop of WEST SIDE STORY at age 9. I’m sure it comes at no surprise, that my love and passion for the craft only intensified from there. After that first show, I was hooked. You could find me at any of my local community theaters for the next 8 years, until I was off to college to do it for 4 more years.

Outside of theater you can find me with caffeine in hand, snacking on Sweet Tarte Ropes, facetiming said family, and playing with my adorable cat Vera (named after the one and only Vera Wang of course).
